Theodore (Ted) Rockwell, D.Sc.

Dr. Theodore Rockwell

Currently retired, Dr. Rockwell joined the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge in 1943. He later rose to the position of Technical Director for Admiral Rickover in the program to develop Naval nuclear power and world’s first commercial atomic reactor. He was honored by the American Nuclear Society having the "Rockwell Award" named after him and being the first recipient of the award for his textbook on nuclear shielding, which is still in use today after 40 years. Retiring from the Navy, he was a co-founder of MPR, a highly successful nuclear consulting firm. Dr. Rockwell has served on the Advisory Council of the Princeton University Department of Chemical Engineering and was a Research Associate with the Johns Hopkins Center for Foreign Policy. He is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Science, and American Men and Women in Science. Dr. Rockwell has written many technical articles and several books.
