Fort Dix/McGuire AFB Investigation

Summary of Testimony: Source 2

On October 10, 2000, I spoke to a retired Air Force Commander [SOURCE 2], who was at McGuire AFB in 1978. I interviewed SOURCE 2, who provided essentially the following information:

Pinson: The purpose of my call is to verify that a Major George Filer worked for you when you were the ______ Commander at McGuire.

SOURCE 2: Major who?

Pinson: His name was George Filer. Does that sound familiar?

SOURCE 2: You know I had so many of them. Did he work for me directly there when I was CG?

Pinson: The word I have is that one of his capacities was your morning intel briefing officer.

SOURCE 2: Ah, that's right. Yes, now I know.

Pinson: We're following up on an investigation of his. He alleges there was a UFO sighting at McGuire AFB at that time.

SOURCE 2: I can tell you one thing. If there was a UFO sighting he's the only one that's ever heard it or talked about it cause I can damn sure tell you there wasn't nothing like that when I was there. You know the Blue Book on the Air Force has been closed for a long time. I can tell you what. That's a far fetched story.

Pinson: It doesn't sound familiar to you then?

SOURCE 2: No. None whatsoever.

Pinson: How well do you remember this Major Filer?

SOURCE 2: I couldn't make comment on that. You know, if he walked through the door I wouldn't know him.

Pinson: Do you recall him ever talking to you about this?

SOURCE 2: No. No one ever talked to me about a UFO at McGuire AFB I can tell you that right now. I would put very low credibility on what he's telling you about UFO's. I don't care who he is. I think he's way off base personally. I was at McGuire in 1978. I was there six years and thirteen days.

Pinson: Do you remember [SOURCE 1]?

SOURCE 2: Oh yes. We still stay in touch with him.
