EW 2 is a busy police officer who agreed to a short interview.

EW 2: ...12:45. On the night of the incident I was standing outside my patrol car and I noticed a diamond-shaped pattern in the sky, of lights. Then after a few moments the diamond shape went into a straight line. The one in the front...the light in the front went a little bit farther and the other ones drifted overhead. They weren't going too fast. I would say I...I saw them for about 5 minutes, then they drifted off over the horizon. That's about it.

NIDS: Did they drift off separately?

EW 2: No, all together.

NIDS: All together. They stayed in formation?

EW 2: Yeah. It looked like flares. You could actually see little pieces falling off. That's what it looked like to me, like...like a balloon or something with a flare on the bottom, but I've never seen them stay in a straight line.

NIDS: They did pretty much stay together, then?

EW 2: Just about, yeah.

NIDS: Okay. [Tape off] ... else there now who could also give me a brief statement?

EW 2: Um, let me check. I think the other officer's a little busy right now with somebody...

NIDS: Oh.

EW 2: ...but I'll see.

NIDS: Okay, thank you.
